1973年生まれ。武蔵野美術大学映像学科卒。2000年よりフリーランスとして活動を開始。スケートボードカルチャーを基盤にしながらも、カルチャー誌やファッション誌や広告などで活動。2004年から2019年までオルタナティヴなスペースNO.12 GALLERY主宰。多くのインディペンデントな作家達が展示をする場所となった。
主な著書に『POOL』（リトルモア）『ばらばら』（星野源と共著／リトルモア）『東京の仕事場』（マガジンハウス）『ボクと先輩』（晶文社）『Los Angeles Car Club』（私家版）『The Kings』（ELVIS PRESS）『I HAVEN’T SEEN HIM』（Sign）がある。

Hirano has based on skateboarding culture, but also he works for various magazines and advertisement. He opened alternative space called NO.12 GALLERY in Shibuya, Tokyo. in 2004 and closed in 2019. he provided an exhibition space for independent artists from various fields.
